Orientation Program

A Warm Welcome to the University of Stuttgart!

With our Orientation Program we would like to make your first steps in Stuttgart easier:
In group sessions we will help you with the formalities, explain the German university system and provide tips for living and studying in Stuttgart. The academic student advisors or experienced students will also offer study counselling for you and the program concludes with an excursion.

Please note that this Orientation Program is offered to students who arrive in April and October respectively and who do not participate in an intensive German course. 

You will be welcomed by the staff of the Office of International Affairs  and by student tutors of the Universität Stuttgart at the IZ (Internationales Zentrum/International Centre).

The Orientation Program takes place in the week before lectures begin (Academic Calendar) and is concluded with a one-day excursion. 

Dates of our next Orientation Programs at the IZ  for students who do NOT participate in a preparatory intensive German course:

Summer semester 2011: 

Wednesday, April 20, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1.30 to 4 p.m.
Thursday, April 21, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Winter semester 2011/12:

Tuesday, Oct. 11 to Friday, Oct. 14

Registration for the orientation program preferably upon arrival at the IZ during the following opening hours:
Tuesday to Thursday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1.30 to 4 p.m.
Participation fee for the excursion: 15 EUR  (please pay cash)
