The origins of the University date back to the year 1818. A remarkably high quota of foreign students throughout the 19th century established the early international reputation of Hohenheim. In 1967 the former "Agricultural College" became the University of Hohenheim. The beautiful 200 year old Hohenheim Castle is the focal point of the university campus.
