The Office of International Affairs can provide a room in one of the dormitories for the visiting exchange students who are admitted to the Universität Stuttgart on request. Further information and the form Application for student housing you will receive from your ERASMUS student advisor of the Universität Stuttgart (ERASMUS students) and from the Office of International Affairs (visiting exchange students from overseas) respectively. Applications have to be submitted not later than 3 months prior to coming to Stuttgart to your ERASMUS student advisor and the Office of International Affairs, e-mail: incoming2@ia.uni-stuttgart.de respectively.

Most of the dormitories, which are all mixed, are located on the campus in Stuttgart-Vaihingen. All dormitories can be easily reached within 20 min. from the city centre campus by S-Bahn (commuter train). The single bedrooms are equipped with a table, bed, chair, wardrobe/closet, bookshelf and a washbasin. There is a common kitchen for all the members of an apartment or of a floor. You must bring your own dishes with you or buy them in Germany. There are also toilets and showers on each floor. Bed linen and coverlets can be purchased in the janitor's office for EUR 35.

Further information about the student dormitories you will find here: Studentenwerk Stuttgart (Student Services)

Please note that the Office of International Affairs does not have any influence on the allocation of dormitories. The Studentenwerk allocates the dormitory rooms and is not in the position to consider any dormitory preferences.

If the Office of International Affairs is not able provide you with a dorm room, you have to arrange private or temporary accommodation by yourself.
