Accommodation for students in international Master programs
In case you have obtained a letter of admission, please contact the course director of your Master's program as soon as possible regarding accommodation. S/he will try to provide you with a room in one of the student dormitories.
Most of the dormitories, which are all mixed, are located on the campus in Stuttgart-Vaihingen. All dormitories can be easily reached within 20 min. from the city centre campus by S-Bahn (commuter train). The single bedrooms are equipped with a table, bed, chair, wardrobe/closet, bookshelf and a washbasin. There is a common kitchen for all the members of an apartment or of a floor. You must bring your own dishes with you or buy them in Germany. There are also toilets and showers on each floor. Bed linen and coverlets can be purchased in the janitor's office for EUR 35.
Further information about the student dormitories you will find here: Studentenwerk Stuttgart (Student Services). Please note that the Office of International Affairs does not have any influence on the allocation of dormitories. The Studentenwerk allocates the dormitory rooms and is not in the position to consider any dormitory preferences.
Due to the great shortage of rooms in the student houses, there is no guarantee, however, that you will be allocated such a room. Should you come to Stuttgart without confirmation of a room, you have to arrange accommodation by yourself. Helpful information about how to find private accommodation you will find here.
