Personal Liability Insurance (Haftpflichtversicherung)
Unlike health insurance, it is not compulsory to have personal liability insurance in Germany. We advise you to purchase such an insurance though. In case of damage caused by you or your family to other persons or objects not belonging to you (e.g. a rented apartment), this insurance covers the costs of the damage. The prices for such an insurance range from EUR 50 - 70 per year depending on whether you are single or have a family.
