Student activities on campus

In each subject there is an association of students called Fachgruppe.  It organizes activities, takes care of new students and represents the students towards the university. Want to get to know local students? Fachgruppe is your place to go!

You can find your Fachgruppe on the homepage of your study program or on the stuvus homepage.

stuvus is the official representation of the interests of students within the university. They also work as an umbrella organization supporting all other official student groups.

  • Departments (Referate) work on different themes, e.g. diversity, sustainability or mobility.
  • Working groups (Arbeitskreise) organize e.g. a campus festival, a magazine and gardening projects on campus.

All students are welcome to join!

There is a number of national student associations active at the University of Stuttgart, such as the Association for Chinese students and academics in Stuttgart (VCWSS) and the Indian student association (ISA). Check them out on stuvus homepage!

AEGEE organizes events and language partnerships for exchange-students in Stuttgart.
AIESEC is a global platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential. It is a non-political, independent, non-profit organization run by students and recent graduates.
IAESTE  is an international, non-political, independent organization that arranges internships abroad

ESN organizes activities primarily for and with ERASMUS students but welcomes all students international and local.

These groups bring together students of all universities in the Stuttgart area.

The Ecumenical Center of the Christian churches, ÖZ, welcomes students of all confessions to meet and interact. Best coffee on campus Monday to Friday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the ÖZ café!

Activities in Stuttgart and Germany

Take the chance to learn more about the German culture by spending time with a German family. With Experiment e.V. you may spend various holidays (like Christmas and Easter) with a German family.

Welcome Center Stuttgart offers bi-weekly events like Game Nights at the Weltcafe (Charlottenplatz).

The Club International offers you an international meeting point to socialize and make friends, participate in workshops and excursions, get useful information on Stuttgart and much more.

STUBE is a short form for the German word “Studienbegleitprogramm and is an offer for students from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Its motto is: Education for improved development! STUBE invites you to interesting seminars on global issues on low or no cost. Have a look!

Stuttgart is a very international city and boasts an abundance of international and immigrant associations. Check them out at the Forum der Kulturen homepage.
